Riyadh Plants

Riyadh Plants is a mobile application and website which focuses on plants suitable for agriculture through all-natural conditions in the region, and an opportunity for those interested in identifying the characteristics of Afforestation in Riyadh.

The Problem

The old website is not giving enough user engagement, and it cuts the user journey, also users are not living a helpful journey and end up with an empty handed.

The Goal

Creating more engagement and dynamic website, that helps users to have a fun and informative dynamic journey while browsing the website.

Home Page

The main focus on the homepage is the search bar since it is one of two features of the website, users needed to feel more emphasis on the searching section, adding a filters button gives the users the ability to control the searching process.

All the plants in the database are classified by too many filters, featuring plants in a normal and ordinary way is still unclear for users, with the new design, feature plants are represented with tags, that allows users to go further and filter plants with a specific filter, the featured plant depends of various factors, such as season, trending plant or a specific event in the area, also the new design gives the users the most properties for each plant that make it unique from other plants, these properties such as fruit size, can also classify all the plants in the database as tags.

In the old design, filtering and classifying was a nightmare for users, since the database of the plants is huge and has a lot of properties, users were drowning while trying to find a plant, also the old design was featuring very limited properties, and users also allowed to browse the whole plants' database freely with (All) option.

Plant Page

The Plant properties section is now more interactive and engaging, it creates a bond between the user and plant, engaging, allowing users to closely look at plants and their properties, every property section is customized with its background image, creating a cinematic scene for users, using a simple gesture like scrolling, users can easily move in the scene, and they can also at any time skip the whole show and go to another section using the scroll bar or activated links.

Similar to the slider on the home page, The plant page is a simple and clear page, it has more information about the plant, information that is represented in the shape of a summary. Adding a font size icon, will also give the user more capabilities and feel of control, it also considers people with vision accessibility.

The last section on the plant page is solving one of the main problems for users, cutting a user journey can make users leave the website quickly and lead to a low conversion rate, by giving the users the ability to continue their journey and complete browsing the website, users can be more into the website and start to find new ways of engagement.
